VIPS Registration for NEW Parents:

In order to enter a classroom during the school day or go on a field trip, you need to complete HISD’s VIPS (Volunteers in Public Schools) Registration. If you would like to volunteer during the first few weeks of school please do this ASAP as it will take 2-3 weeks to complete your background check. If this is your first year to volunteer in HISD you must follow the steps below. All volunteers (including grandparents and other family members) must register online and pass a criminal background check. Please follow the steps below to become a VIPS:

  • Step 1:  Register online using this form: http://amun.houstonisd.org/visits/en-us/login.aspx
  • Step 2: Once you have registered, you must go in person to the MCLIMS office (you may do thia during registration if you have already complete the online form)and show proof of identification see list of options here http://www.houstonisd.org/domain/10494
  • Step 3: Identification information will go into our database for processing by the Volunteer Coordinator at each campus.
  • Step 4: The criminal history background check can take 2-3 weeks to complete.
  • Step 5: Once you are CLEARED to volunteer, you are eligible to volunteer throughout HISD.
If you have been through this process at another HISD school, follow the same link above. You will need to log back into your account and add MCLIMS to your list of schools.

Registration for NEW Students

For those who have not attended MCLIMS before, registration starts next week; Monday through Thursday (06/17 – 06/20) from 8am -12pm and Friday (06/21) from 9am – 3pm.

You will need to bring:
1. Your child’s birth certificate, immunization record, and social security card; 2. proof of address (lease, current utility bill, property tax receipts); and
3. Parent ID.

Please direct any questions to the administrators at the school.

Playdates in the Park!

Playdates in the Park are coming! Come make some new friends before school starts. This summer we’ll have class playdates most Saturdays from 9-11am at Feld Park (next door to the school). Please spread the word to any new MCLIMS families you know. The grade designations refer to you child’s grade for Fall 2013. If you can’t make your grade level, feel free to come to any other one!

YMCA Summer School Afterschool Care

 

The Weekley Family YMCA has partnered with MCLIMS to provide summer school students with Afterschool care. The YMCA will transport these students at the time of summer school dismissal to our day camp program. The YMCA will provide youth with supervised activities that teach core values, conflict resolution and leadership skills. Day Camp gives children the opportunity to play games, create arts and crafts, build friendships, participate in field trips, and much more…

Ages 4-1

Monday, June lOth – Friday, July 5th

(The camp itself is held at Pershing Middle School)

Monday-Thursday: dismissal until 6:30pm
Friday: 7:00 am-6:30 pm

Shot Records must be provided

Facility Member: $ 250/session
Program Member: $31 S/session+
+$30 program member fee if applicable
